Original Soviet “Sputnik” Souvenir Night Light

This vintage Soviet night light was produced by the Moscow Projector Plant (MPZ), with production beginning in the late 1960s.

Its design was inspired by the famous Monument to the Conquerors of Space near VDNKh in Moscow. The transparent central section represents the trail of a rising rocket and produces an attractive glowing effect when the lamp is switched on.

This is an interesting example of Soviet Space Age design and a collectible decorative light for fans of USSR memorabilia, vintage lighting and space history.
