Vintage Soviet Night Light with Built-In Medium-Wave Radio

This unusual combined radio and night light was produced in the USSR in Zaporozhye, Ukraine, beginning in the 1970s.

The receiver is a simple medium-wave design built with seven germanium transistors. It works, although reception can be limited in urban areas because of modern electrical interference. I replaced the electrolytic capacitors with new ones.

I completely disassembled and cleaned the unit. The night light works properly, and a new transformer is included for operation from 110V mains.
