Vintage Soviet Flame Night Light, Research Institute Anniversary Lamp Battery Powered
$69.00
Vintage Soviet Flame-Shaped Commemorative Night Light
This unusual lamp was made at a Soviet research institute and presented for an employee's 50th anniversary. A removable engraved metal plate in Russian is set into the body and can be reversed to hide the inscription.
The design symbolizes a flame or fire. The base is plastic, the flame is plexiglass, a metal tube separates the sections, and a piece of granite is attached to the base.
I completely disassembled and cleaned the lamp and restored the contacts. It is powered by two AA batteries and has a five-position switch, two positions of which activate the red light.
